Home Glass Studio Links

I have long been fascinated by stained glass. When I reached a point in my life where I needed to explore a creative outlet, I turned to the vibrancy, accessibility and functionality of this art form. I started simply and casually, by taking a class and creating panels from my home. From this informal exploration, I discovered my interest in stained glass was more than a fascination.

What followed was a major life shift for me; a complete detour from what had been a very fulfilling fifteen-year career as a political professional. I eventually left my career to pursue stained glass fulltime.

In March 2006 I moved into a small, gritty, window-lined studio space in Seattle's historic Pioneer Square and began to work. I had absolutely no plan for my new adventure. No timeline -- just fantasies of the possibilities. My thought was "just start and see where it goes."

That same attitude is exactly how I approach creating my glass. I rely on my intuition and subconscious to guide my work. Influenced by my need to champion imagery that is different, contemporary, and abstract, I attempt to transform this traditional medium into designs expressing a range of emotions and styles - modern, romantic, playful, organic, whimsical, simple - wherever the creative energy takes me.
